This is an introductory page about what folk like You are doing with wetlands and their watersheds! What do you think of when you think of wetlands? Alot of people think immediately of the bad view of wetlands in the past as areas that are unhealthy for us. But they really are unique places with some unusual plants and animals and soil formations. So tell me What's going on in your watershed with wetlands and streams? Oh, and kids! Send me your bitmaps and jpegs or pics and I will try to post them on my site! Check out some of the photos of a fun time that we had with Environmental Concern, Inc. and Swampy in SWAMPYkids!
Hi, this is Gary, the creator of SWAMPY! It has been interesting meeting you and sharing our mutual interests in wetlands and watersheds. This year is my 10th anniversary with Swampy. I became interested in wetlands about 11 years ago and became interested in wetland systems. Later, when I was running around the track at the Lexington Athletic Club the idea of S.W.A.M.P.Y. came together in my mind. Over the past 2 years I have travelled from Florida to Alaska to experience different wetlands. More will follow as we watch Swampy grow into a character that can "bring the wetlands to the people" in a physical dimension as Swampy in a SWAMPYshow and "bring the people to the wetlands" via the Internet - with beautiful pics of wetlands and wetland soils, plants, and animals!
Lastly, I am interested in working/partnering with other individuals/organizations to make Swampy the heartbeat of wetlands. If you are interested, please email Gary at goswampy@swampy.org, as well. I am trying to make Swampy a larger than life character and looking for positive and consrtructive ways to share Swampy. So, please write me when you can if you have any suggestions. thanks...wwwiiittt..^^<---ripples waves, wetland plants & Mts
