This is an introductory page about the water in wetlands and watersheds. As the driving force in wetlands, the presence and absence of water has influenced man's civilization for countless years. The question often remains.. what do we do with the water? This is where we are continually learning about the importance of wetlands as they work in relation to water quality and water quantity.

From the oceans to the rivers and back to the oceans,
water is a renewable resource that is precious to our existence.
I believe we are truly blessed to have beautiful waterways to enjoy. Let us not forget to take a moment and consider
what we are doing here may affect something there. It really is an important holistic concept when we acknowledge water and the important roles that wetlands play such as water quality through the filtration of pollutants.

The next time you're out and see beautiful water and fringe wetlands, consider the full picture and ask yourself.. what has gone on here with respect to the soils, water, the animals, mankind changes, plants and you - how can you take back something with you to help improve the health of your wetlands and watersheds?
