This page will include some talk about animals and the importance of wetlands as home habitats. All to often, we look at the soils, water and plants and don't consider their residents or visitors, or with this page the animals. For example, take a look at these pictures of the reindeer, moose, a grizzly bear and a loon (lounging on Wonder Lake) taken recently at Denali National Park. as well as the sea otter and the orcas off the Kenai peninsula..Wetlands are the last homes for alot of animals including some threatened and endangered species(T & E). Also, wetlands are homes for animals in which man uses in such areas as leisure and recreation, hunting, and fishing.
